Festival Dancing [John & Xander]

[Eri Tokito]

Eri and John had polished off their well reasonable dinner, the two having a lovely conversation about all and everything which randomly popped into either pirates head. John had ducked back upstairs to drop off his souvenirs from earlier as Eri had gone to the bathroom to fix up her hair and makeup before meeting John outside the restaurant, excitement coursing through her veins.

When she met John she smiled widely, quickly taking his hand into her smaller one, hearing the distant music up ahead as she pulled along her companion towards the festival which was taking place.

While most festivals were more about stalls and souvenirs, this reminded Eri more of some sort of dance club with the town square centred off as various people danced along to the band which played, the wine which was being offered to patrons being the only festive relation which Eri could see.

As she saw the people dancing she quickly glanced behind her to John whom she had near but dragged along as she grinned cheekily before pulling him with her onto the dance floor, quickly being caught up in a ferosious waltz as as laughed happily as the two danced along to the music, not a care in the world. She felt a bit out of place there with her short black dress and high heels while all the local women were dressed in long skirts and blouses, but there was Eri in a dress which had enough material to just cover her backside...

As the music changed and the people around them started to switch partners, she felt herself be wrenched away from John as her eyes widen in suprise. Quickly being passed around she felt herself begin to feel dizzy as she spun around with some unkown man, wishing that John could come find her and save her from this horrid spinning around. Stumbling backwards in her heels she felt herself hit a broad chest as she clutched her hand to her head, her temples throbbing slightly.

With a small groan she looked up behind her, soon snapping out of her slight nausiated state at the familiar face whom she had bumped into. Taking a deep breath as she turned around fully to face the man she said nervously, "...Xander...?"

Dinner was an involvement of much talk and several glasses of wine, John placed the payment on the small metal tray for the waiter and headed upstairs to put things away whilst Ellie went to powder her nose.

He gently smiled back at his captain and kept a soft yet firm grip of her hand so they wouldn't get separated as they headed outside to the crowds.

John looked around to get an idea of what was happening as it was empty earlier on and now barely room to move now bar the dance area.

He was still looking as his body was yanked onto a smooth floor, his attention pulled onto Ellie as John quickly attempted to catch his wits and began dancing with his captain, it was then he noticed she looked off as if she sticking out in the crowd, in which John places his arm around her waist and his hand in hers, smiling softly at her.

John didn't get a chance to keep his grip on Ellie's hand as she got pulled from him, his own shoulder the target of a hand that span him away, the music starting up and his attempts to find Ellie proving more difficult as the world span around him, it was as the song neared it's end he spotted her bump into a figure, it was now the challenge of finding a way over that was on his list.

Xander glanced nervously around the area where the festival took place. The mix of alcohol and people always made the marine uneasy. That, and he was not really one for festivals of said alcohol because he becomes inebriated very easily. But at least he was not alone. His superior had also given Kyun the day off as well, and it was his idea to go to this festival.

Xander didn't know Kyun that well. He had just been transfered to his division from the one in the West blue for unknown reasons. He had been really friendly to him and always liked what he had to say. But Xander felt a little odd to say the least, around him. It was as if Kyun was a bit more friendly to the guys than to the girls.

Xander was too caught up in his musings on his new companion that he was caught off guard by the person that ran into him. Gasping a bit as he looked down to see that it was a woman. But this was no ordinary woman, he felt like he had seen her before. Looking at her a bit, a smile spread across his face at the realization of who she is. Giggling happily, he wrapped his arms around her, embracing her nervous form.

"Oh! Why if it isn't my friend Eri!" He said happily, forgetting his usual sense of decorum. But he couldn't help it. He thought that he would never see her again after their first meeting. "How have you been?" he asked, releasing her from his strong grip. He cast a short glance about to see if Kyun was anywhere about, for he wanted to make sure he met Eri as well. The thought of Kyun somehow made a small stir in Xander's stomach, while the thought of Eri made him feel warm, but the feelings began to grow similar, how odd...

Eri returned Xanders hug, happy to see the marine since their last visit but nervous about the situation at hand. She hadn't expected him to be here as she glanced around the town square, trying to spot for any other marines. Not seeing any she didn't push the fact that there could be as she turned back to Xander, a grin on her face as she said, "I wasn't expecting to see you here!"

Chuckling as she crossed her arms across her chest, leaning back in her heels as she replied, "I'm very well, and you my dear Xander? How has life been fairing for you lately?"

Eri paused as she bit her lip, realising that John was probably trying to find her right now as she glanced around for her lost companion. She hoped he was alright, the man becoming for than an important existance to her. Checking her surroundings once more before turning back to Xander she gave him a grin, tilting her head back as she said, "so why are you here exactly?"

John caught sight of his captain he was going to push his way through to intervene or at least let her know he knew she was safe but it was out the corner of his eye he spotted the white coats of the marines, obviously a patrol but if the festival was swarmed with them it meant they eventually find the ship and soon after find them.

Ellie was safe so John shot off back to the café and grabbed his staff along with any of his other weapons, making sure to get Ellie's and a change of clothes for the chance she had to fight it would make it easier for her and she'd look cute in them at the same time even if that didn't help the situation with marines.

As he quickly walked back a bag in hand with Ellie's change of clothes and some weapons just in case and staff on back with his weapons hidden amongst his person, it took a few minutes before John was merely a foot behind his captain as he slowed his pace and put his hand on her shoulder standing next to her. "I see getting separated from me wasn't too bad." He smirked slightly leaning and whispering gently in her ear informing his captain of the situation although it may have looked more intimate from a different perspective.

A strong musical note tinkled through the air, propelling the beat at which the person in question walked through the crowd. He wore white and black clothes that where the exact opposite in color to a certain marine, even down to the tassels on his scarf. The marine was none other than Kyun Streamsleek. He was suppose to be hanging out with his new friend Xander, but they had been separated in the crowd. The two of them had gotten the day off and he had suggested that the two of them go to the festival today.

Even though the Festival was exceedingly fun, he was just happy to be hanging out with Xander. Even though there was little responded affection from Xander, Kyun knew that with a little time, he would reciprocate his love with his own. The very thought of made him blush happily. "Ohh, how lovely?" he said to himself, pushing through the crowd to find his friend.

Squirming and shoving through the crowd, he began calling out, "XANDER...XANDER...." when his eyes met with the sight of his friend talking to some girl. They hugged and began talking as if they hadn't seen each other in a long time. A few emotions began stirring in his stomach. He felt a small amount of happiness that he had friends, but he felt a strong surge of a protective anger. What if she was trying to make a move on the marine. He couldn't allow that. He was about to break the two up when another guy came around and spoke to the girl.

"Well well well, I finally found you Xan..." He said, walking into the conversation with a smile. Wrapping a friendly arm around the other marine's shoulder, he asked, "So who's your friend?" with a friendly, yet devious smile, he looked the two over as the man whispered into her ear. The guy had a staff with him, so he might be a fighter. It made the wheels begin to turn in his mind, and his smile broaden.

Eri had stood within the crowd with Xander as the music continued to fill the air with a glorious melody as the band played thier instruments in time. When she felt a hand on her shoulder she spun around slightly, her hand coming out before her body in a defensive guesture before seeing it was only John. With a sigh of relief, she merely slapped him on the hand which was on her shoulder before he leant in and whispered in her ear, telling her of their situation.

Too bad she already knew. It was bad enough that she met Xander there and this time John was there as well, but then another marine came and slung an arm around Xanders' shoulders. Damn... thought Eri, this was going to be hard to explain...and escape from...

When the other marine spoke, Eri saw his eyes flick to John's staff which he held, already knowing that he had taken their bags to the ship. It was a good call on his part and John had made sure that they could now leave without too much trouble...well, now they were in trouble though. Quickly placing a hand over John's which held his staff, indicating to hold on she looked between all three men, the tension evident. Biting her lip she said, "um...Xander, this is John...and he's my uh, boyfriend?"

Xander wasn't expecting Kyun to find him yet, so he was a bit taken aback when he felt a long, slender arm wrap around his shoulder. The owner of that shoulder regarded him warmly, and it made him blush a bit. It was no secret that Xander and Kyun where friends, but Xander thought that was where it ended. He had no idea that his friend harbored secret feelings for him. "O-oh, hey Kyun...where'd you run off to?" He asked, smiling a bit, but it was a slightly nervous smile, for he was around Miss Eri, and her friend who was whispering to her about something.

Just then, Xander noticed that the man that was talking to her had a staff, and not a walking staff, a fighting staff. This unnerved him, for why would seemingly average people carry weapons around with them to a festival? The marines where going to be there, so why feel the need to protect yourself? The young marine shook the thought away, another one striking a chord inside him. Turning his head back to Eri and her friend, his eyes minutely wider than they use to be.

He let go of Eri and his speech became a bit more distant as he said, "O-oh! Okay, nice to meet you..umm..." He said, his voice trailing off a bit as he turned to the man that was hanging on him. He cast a small smile towards Kyun, trying to hide his embarrassment, and strong disappointment. He liked Eri, but it appeared that she was already taken, so he wasn't going to get to upset. Still, something unnerved him about this guy, but he didn't know what it was. Maybe it was just the jealousy talking.

John relaxed himself practically splitting his mind in two, one to listen to the surroundings along with the conversation and making sure to reply when need be, the other half assessing situations and ways to keep Eri out of harms way that and not having a fleet of marines jump on them.

He hadn't been spoken too yet but the eyes of the other two showed suspicion probably his look, the large staff on his back would make some question his profession but why would they be wary of it, for all they knew he could of just bought it for ornamental reasons but that was very unlikely to any trained eye, John deduced that the two were law, most likely marine.

The moment Eri introduced him as her ' boyfriend' it was apparent that she was hiding who they really were, he was tempted to give her a kiss on the cheek or something just to tease his captain a bit, John himself decided to ease their minds a touch so they could understand why he was carrying a weapon, but then he also had to introduce himself as well. "John, John Taylor, I'm also employed as the young Miss's bodyguard whilst she travels."

He had pretty much figured they were marines despite being not in uniform, the question that wondered through his mind after he said his name bar the 'silvers' part was his parent's, were fairly high ranked individuals he knew his father was a Commodore before John saw him for the last time and his mother a Captain.

Eri had only made something up on the spot for a reason to why she and John were together, but when Xander let go of her and backed off a bit, she could see the hurt in his eyes. Eri liked Xander, he was the sweetest guy she knew but she was confused as to why the sudden distance. Her confusion was evident as she cocked her head to the side, fidgeting as she bit her lip, her gaze darting around the area, not wanting to meet Xanders' gaze.

She felt so guilty for decieving him, but she didn't want him to find out about her pirate status because that would just ruin their whole friendship. But, much to Eri's dismay, she may have already injured their friendship. It hurt her to think of that, and she was feeling a bit nervous around this other marine who seemed to know Xander. Eri knew Xander, so that was fine, but she had no idea who this other marine was...it was a dangerous situation to be in.

When John quickly came up with an excuse to his reason for carrying his staff, Eri felt like jumping on him and giving him a huge hug for his quick thinking. It was more than evident that without John, Eri would have probably been in a whole heap of shit. Pulling down her dress as she saw a random man stare at her bare legs, she shifts slightly till she was closer to John, finding safety within his presence. Clearing her throat she added on to what John had said, "John was hired by my parent to accompany on my sight seeing of the various areas of blue sea."

What a position they had gotten themselves into this time. Kyun, picking up on Xander's newfound distance from this Eri girl after he had found out that this other guy was her boyfriend. Now, Kyun a feeling a while new range of emotions bubbling and moiling in his stomach. He felt a surge of joy, knowing now that his beloved Xander was no longer thinking of that girl, leaving him open for HIS affection. But he felt a certain stab of pity as well that took some of his triumph away. Poor Xander really did like this girl, and seeing him distant and sad only made him feel worse. But there was one really great upside to this. Now Kyun can come in and make his precious Xander smile again, maybe even announce his love for the marine.

Shaking his head a bit, Kyun smiled a bit towards Eri and her boyfriend, hiding his inner evil. "Well, sorry to interrupt your evening together. Come along Xany, let's leave the two lovebirds!" He laughed out, locking arms with the marine to lead him away from the two. The cold air mixed with the many warm bodies to create a strange atmosphere as the marine led his friend over to a bar for some wine. Knowing that a little alcohol and comfort will do Xander a world of good, and loosen him up a bit fro Kyun's own advances. Coming up to the bar, he was confronted by a marine in their unit, saying , a little too lout, that they found a pirate ship docked a little ways away. Hearing this, a grin spread across the marine's face. This was perfect. Nothing like a fight to take your mind of having your heart crushed. "Ya wanna come to the pirate ship Xany?" He asked, smiling coquettishly

Xander stuck his lower lip out in a small pout, casting a small, hurt glance towards Eri before he walked off with Kyun, calling, "Okay then...see ya Eri..." Before the two began pushing through the crowd. Wrapping the long scarf about his face tighter, he began to examine all the new options that opened up for him, seeing as the person that he felt affection towards actually had a boyfriend already. His heart had a dull throbbing in it now, and he didn't know how to cope with it.

He knew one thing, however. According to the other marines who where coping with problems, they say that a good mug of beer would cure anything. Taking a deep breath in, the marine decided to embrace the new changes. Wrapping his arm around Kyun, Xander began smiling as they walked over to the place that was selling the alcohol. After ordering a bottle of rum, the lithe male began chugging large mouthfuls of the liquid, scrunching up his face every time he swallowed, for the alcohol was alien to his system, and felt like fire in the pit of his tummy. He coughed a bit, forcing the feeling out of his mind with the strange feelings of Eri, taking another deep breath and gulping down the remains of the rum bottle.

He wasn't use to such hard alcohol, so when he ingested a whole bottle of rum, and a rather large one at that, so it completely messed with his system. Giggling a bit at the marine who came by to tell them that there was a pirate ship docked nearby, he turned his attention to Kyun, looking at him with a half lidded, drunken face as he said, "Of course I," He paused to hiccup, " would, Kyun!" The inebriated Xander said with a smile, grabbing Kyun's head and pulling him into a drunken kiss, sliding his tongue inside his friends mouth. It lasted about seven seconds before he ran off, his scarf fluttering behind him, over to the ship dock.

John kept his friendly demeanor too the two marines, the younger of the two obviously mentally hurt by the information he had been given by Eri, although a tiny part enjoyed the pain that had entered Xander's heart somewhat, if anyone was to get near his captain it wasn't going to be a marine.

He politely nodded as they said their goodbyes and headed off, this was good as they vanished out of sight John's smile dropped and any form of killing ki vibrated around his body, it was the only way to protect his captain but it seemed the town was swarming with marines, their ship wasn't safe and neither were they.

Looking around in the surroundings quickly, John looked at his captain. "It seems our stay is short lived, if anything we might have to sneak off at night."
He rubbed the back of his head, he liked this town and wished to stay a little bit longer and possibly bought more supplies.

Still John and Eri had time to kill if need be, plus he hadn't shown her that sunset just yet.

Eri watched as Xander and the marine Kyun walked off into the crowd. Eri bit her lip nervously, sad that she couldn't spend more time with Xander but he seemed upset and Eri doubted he wanted to talk with her. She knew that she had made up the lie to cover the fact that both her and John were pirates, sworn enemies of marine who happened to be both Kyun and Xander both.

Following after John through the crowds, Eri reached out a small hand, catching it on the back of John's coat, her eyes downcast as she didn't bother even looking up to see where she was going, instead just letting John lead her.

Soon though, John turned to look at her and as he spoke, Eri lifted her gaze, a soft smile on her lips as she nodded at her companion. "Yeah...I wish we could stay for longer though...that would have been nice..." Eri said with a sigh as she looked up at John, stepping forward as she wrapped an arm around the taller man's waist. She was being rash and a bit strange, but to Eri, she felt like she needed the comfort at the moment, her own consious feeling heavy with guilt at the expression of Xander's which seemed to haunt her mind.

Burying her face into Johns' shirt, Eri murmured out just loud enough for John to hear, "thanks for being here with me John...I...I...I need you here with me please..."

Kyun smiled at his cute friend's antics, watching him chug alcohol like there was no tomorrow, in an attempt to drown his broken heart. He didn't want to see his friend and Marine partner so sad, so he resolved to make sure that Xander would be twice as happy as he could have ever been with Eri, he deserved it. Kyun's face lit up when the drunken Xander said that he would, but then, a shock went through his body as he was pulled into a deep kiss.

But as quickly as the kiss began, so did it end. The marine gaped a bit at the drunken male as he ran out to go investigate the pirate ship docked at the nearby harbor. He couldn't believe it, he had kissed Xander! Or rather, Xander kissed him. Either way, he got to connect mouths with his crush, even if he was drunk. Kyun, a bit dazed, licked his lips and got the taste of Xander, mingled with alcohol. He loved the taste, wiping his mouth, and was determined to get more of it. "Oh, you asked for it Xanny!" He called out with a smile, running after his fighting partner.

He caught up with the other male in no time, picking up speed to hug him tight while running, planting a warm kiss on his neck as they made it to the ship, relishing at it because he had fantasized about doing that for so long. He decided that while Xander was drunk, he might as well get everything out that he's been wanting to say. "What do you think Xanny?" He asked, staring at the small ship. It wasn't much to look at, so maybe it was a small crew of pirates, perhaps two of them.
