Since we have a number of people who wish to be joining the Fleeting Shadows, I originally intended to follow a similar pattern as the Strawhats recruitments process. This was essentially to defeat an NPC boss before a new member is recruited into the crew. Yet that may prove to be somewhat difficult and slow, seeing as the maximum number of threads an individual can be in is three. Given that, I told those who wish to join to go to Nihilus which is where the Fleeting Shadows will be heading; so far this includes me, Apocalyptica and Juli (Though Juli is not officially a member of the crew). So instead of having to recruit people by defeating an enemy, how about we fit this all into one arc?
So just a though. The arc naturally needs a setting and here is an idea for a background plot. There is unrest in Nihilus as the marines camp around the base of the mountains and hills, surrounding the shorelines. The marines are a high number and a mighty presence in the island of Nihilus. Equal to their strength are the revolutionaries who too have a mighty presence, yet their numbers are unclear since they sparsely locate themselves around the mountains, concealed from sight. The mood between the two factions are increadibly low due to the overall threat of war and grim northern winter of the island. Both factions are preparing for a war (well... battle) which will determine the control over the island.
In the middle of this tension is the main city of Nihilus, enjoying its private and economic prosperity. A treaty has been signed between the mayor of Nihilus and the marines known as the Treaty of Nihilus. It states that Nihilus is to remain its sovereign status, independent from the World Government, In return, supplies and resources will be provided for the marines. Little does anyone know, but the mayor has secretly created his own private army in Nihilus that are willing to take on the marines and revolutionaries when both sides are weakened. The mayor is a mysterious person, no one has ever seen him (not even high ranking marines, though he is a popular figure to the people of Nihilus who swallow the patriotism and authoritarian control. The mayor's voice is the colonel, who is also the head of the army, who deals with skirmishes around the city and aiding minor battles in fighting off some small revolutionaries around the outskirts.
So this is the general setting I've had. We can get into some more in depth plot development for this arc soon. But I would like to know overall opinions on this scenario? Also, if you wish to join the crew, what would you like to be doing in this plot?
