Island of Birth: Solona Island
Which Blue: North
Character History: Jeth Rownan was born on Solona Island in the North Blue. He lived in the mountain town of Litam, which only housed 7 families. Others not belonging to those families were shooed out at night, for that was when those of Litam partook in activities outsiders would find strange, to say the least. Those of Litam were the only ones who believed in the Legend of the Soulrise.
The history of the island tells of an old tale. The island, once large and dominated by only two cities, was a peaceful metropolis. Once, there was a day when not a single person died. On the midnight of that day, disaster struck, and Solona Island was ravaged beyond belief. Only seven lived to tell the tale. A small ship of refugees from another island where something similar happened arrived, and were surprised to see the same happen to the great metropolis of Solona. Based on the information, the Legend of the Soulrise was formed, as one of the Solona men, a religious type, came up with his possible explanation, which most others accepted. The survivors migrated the mountain town, and eventually, the 7 families of Litam were created.
The Rownan family was one of them. Their duty was that of the executioners, and among the most prestigious. The families current head was Jeffery Rownan, Jeth’s father. As future family head, Jeth was to be trained in the arts of execution and swordsmanship. His younger brother, Jefar was also instructed in the same manner. Due to being close in age, they were schooled in much the same way. After their years of learning the practice, their swordsmanship training began. This time, it was not just the two of them, for they were joined by Jorgen Wallace, Jeth’s cousin. Jorgen was in a slightly different position for advancement; as a Wallace, he was slated to become the next Soulqueller.
Each of the seven families had their specific purpose in Litam. The Rownan’s were the executioners. The island had in their possession a Den Den Mushi, one of the largest outside of the Grand Line. It picked up news broadcasts from all over the North Blue, but the ones paid the most attention to were those of executions. Jeth listened in on these quite often, hearing about the infamous pirates brought in. When an insufficient number were executed in a day, thy would take a prisoner from the extensive prison network throughout the island and execute him. Jeth would often get descriptions of the pirate’s capture by a Marine, though they were rarely given full names. In downtimes, Jeth often fantasized that he was a Marine capturing or killing dread pirates like Game Hunter Duncan, Con Man Kiard, or Tocad ‘Two Shield’.
The Wallace family held the practice of Soulquellers. One at a time, they would send one of their family out into the rest of the world to deal in death. Typically, they would become pirates, marines, assassins, or other trades who practice in killing humans. Jorgen’s father was stated to have been killed recently, so Jorgen’s training was being rushed, as he was the only one left who could go out. His mother was getting older, and his remaining grandparents were similarly unfit. Jeffery Rownan agreed to aid his training by having him learn swordsmanship alongside Jeth and Jefar.
In their years of training, Jorgen and Jeth found themselves becoming quite close. They were said to be even closer than Jeth had been with Jefar. They were also quite close in skill, their aim to surpass the other driving them both to become far stronger than they would have alone.
However, some time after Jeth’s 18th birthday, it came to a stop. While patrolling at night for intruders, Jeth came across a man holding a bloodied blade. Upon closer inspection, this man was identical in appearance to Jorgen! Jorgen fled, and Jeth had little choice but to report what he had seen. As it turned out, someone with no slight against Jorgen had been slain. The sword was indeed Jorgen’s own, though Jorgen denied everything. However, there was no other evidence in favor of Jorgen, thus he was sentenced to death.
Jeth tried to argue it, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Jeffery was forced to execute the teenager. Another issue was raised however; who would be the next Soulqueller?
Seeing opportunity, Jeth offered himself to the task. With Jefar able to take over as head of the Rownan family, and Jeth already having most of the training required, The heads of the 7 families, including Jeffery, accepted. Jorgen’s mother supplied the remaining training, and Jeth was given a small boat and supplies to leave. He also recived the mark of the Soulqueller on his back, marking his position.
Jeth left Solona, and was glad to be able to accomplish what he dreamed of. He’d become a Marine, and deal death to pirates and criminals. Jeth found a nearby Marine base a signed himself up. Shortly after that, he was shipped to basic training.

Weaknesses:
- Unlucky: Jeth is highly superstitious. However, it seems that this is the result of a practical joke by some higher figure, for Jeth tends to be the victim of many superstitions he believes in. Be it mental or just plain bad luck, if he thinks it will happen to him, it probably will.
- Overfocused: One of Jeth’s skills is to be able to focus on a single task. However, this makes him single minded. If caught in this state, he is easy to sneak up on, and attack. Once he switches his focus to the attacker though, they better hope they can hold their own.
Techniques:
- Circinus Breaking Wheel: A one-sword attack. Jeth winds up his arms before making a wide, circular swing with his greatsword.
- Crucifix Crux: A two-sword attack. Jeth Slashes once downward with his longsword, and follows it up swiftly with a horizontal slash from his shortsword, while simultaneously rushing forward.
- Vela Guillotine: A one-sword attack. Jeth jumps into the air and delivers a downward slash.
- Reticulum Noose: A two-sword attack. Jeth slashes widely with his blades while running forward.
- Telescopium Impalement Spike: Useable with either style, Jeth stabs forward with both of his weapons, or just the one.
