[Vega Lucero]

Finally he had arrived. After weeks on a hired sailing craft, Vega was glad to have arrived in Loguetown. Not that he minds sailing but the company could have been much better. The other travellers weren't big talkers and only opened their mouths to complain about the journey. A sailing journey isn't for everybody it seems. That and the ship's crew were everything except hospitable.

Well, Vega's mood was good and he left the sailing ship. He was carrying his sword with him but it was wrapped in cloth to conceal it. Walking around with weapons is mostly frowned upon and the last thing Vega wanted was to draw attention to him. For now it was the most favorable to blend in with the crowd. Also it appears that Loguetown has a large marine garrison. Vega knew this was strategical important, as it was a last stop for pirates before the Grand Line; But it also had a symbolic reason. As this place was the birthplace and place of execution of Gold Roger, the former Pirate King. This island was important to all pirates and with a large garrison, the marines were throwing salt in the pirate's wounds.

After walking for a while Vega found a weapon shop. After hesitating for a while, he decided to enter. It was an average sized shop with many different weapons on display. Mostly they were different swords. But also spears, axes, maces, etc. "What can I do for you, sir?" Vega heard a voice behind him. When turning around he was a small, balding man. It was the shopkeeper no doubt. "I am just looking around. If that is all right." The shopkeeper nodded. After a while Vega left, no sword had caught his eye. Which was to be expected. A good sword isn't that easy to find. Himself being a smith should know that.

Xander walked at a quick, calculating pace. His eyes darting from object to object, noting any and all pirates. He listened to the soft tinkling of the star zipper on his starch white puffer vest. He took his appearance very seriously, and showed no mercy to those who ruined it. Especially if he was wearing white like he is today. But then he realized that white hat, white scarf, and white puffer vest weren't the best idea in a dusty place like Lougetown. But that was now the last of his worries. He had recently been informed that a gang of pirates had been robbing weapons shops and he and his battalion where sent to monitor the town and stop any potential robbers. Pushing a curly lock of black hair out of his eyes, Xander made his way into one of the weapons shops in the city, cautious to turn his newsboy cap inside out to hide the marine insignia. The last thing he wanted was to blow his cover, even if it was plain to see he was a marine, what with all his clothes being either navy blue or white.

Upon entering, he was greeted by a short, balding man who asked if he needed anything. Trying to not seem inconspicuous, the young marine said, "Ohh..why yes I do, do you have any swords with a handguard?" He asked nervously. Nodding, the man left into the back of the store without another word. Maybe this wouldn't be so hard to do... he thought I mean really, who is going to believe that a sixteen year old is part of the marines...right? He asked himself nervously, but kept a calm exterior and a level head. Xander then noticed another guy in the shop, looking around."Hey..." he said quicky, making a small gesture with his hand to say hello as well. He had to be friendly, or people might think he is up to something.

With his hand covering his chin, Vega was looking at the various swords. They were being displayed in various glass cases. In the other hand was his own sword, a katana. It wasn't a masterpiece but it sufficed for now. Still, a sword of better quality was very alluring. From his chin, his left hand went to the glas cases. Stroking the surface. From the corner of his eyes Vega noticed a boy walking inside the shop. His attention quickly returned to the weapons though.

Quickly afterthat Vega heard a voice. "Hey." The boy was speaking to him. Vega turned around, smoke was rising up from his pipe. He waved back as a manner of greeting. "Good day to you." Vega said in a friendly tone. He took his pipe from his mouth and kept it in his gloved hands. "Are you also looking for a new sword?" His eyes were calm and a smirk was seen on Vega's face.
