MarinesRank: For Marines, they have an official ranking system where the only way to rank up is through promotion. Promotions are provided by marine officers whom are higher ranks than each other or staff members. All non-officer classes cannot promote any ranking marines. If a high ranking marine officer feels a non-officer fank or lower officer rank has performed well, they may be promoted to a rank above. All non-Officer ranks are free to do missions and roleplays, enforcing the laws, protecting VIP, obeying orders and capturing criminals. If they do their job well, then they are more likely to be promoted fairly fast. Through higher ranks, marines are able to earn more beli a week, learn new techniques and are considered generally stronger than the ranks below them. They also have a better chance at getting better devil fruit.
A marine officer has much more rights within the marines. They gain the ability to rank up all lower ranks below them or non-officer rank members. However they have to have justified reason to rank up lower ranks. Officer ranks also have a harder time at attaining promotions as they are now expected to perform dramatically better. They are now expected to catch infamous criminals and outlaws with higher bounties that are 1,000,000 or over. If they wish to promote lower ranking marines, then they must acknowledge that those with officer ranks are much tougher to rank up. However, officer ranked players are allowed to ask their superiors for a promotion. Non-officer ranks cannot.
When higher ranked marine player ranks up lower ranked marine officers/non-officers, they must consider the following:
- Current rank. Remember that the lower the rank, the easier it is to be promoted. Especially non-officer ranks.
- The number of bounties the marine has collected and their worth. (Only expected for officer ranks)
- Their techniques or abilities.
- Leadership
- Their actions in roleplay
- Their roleplaying skill.
- The amount of beli they have.
This list should provide a justified reason to promote other players to their new level. Please not that staff are allowed to influence the decision. When a new rank is given, then PM a member of staff the player's name and their new rank, also providing a brief description of why they are being promoted. Once reviewed, a staff member can change their rank.
In turn, de-ranking is also allowed should a higher ranking marine feel when necessary. De-ranking is allowed to take place when a player has been inactive for at least a month or if the marine has committed a major mistake. Again a staff member has to be sent a PM. Any admiral rank that has not been active for at least a month will be demoted to the rank of Rear Admiral.
Shichibukai tend to be very powerful pirates that work alongside the marines. When appointing a Shichibukai, only Lieutenant Commanders and above are allowed to suggest to Vice Admirals or above their suggestions over the next Shichibukai. A Vice Admiral or higher rank can appoint Shichibukai if 2 other Vice Admiral ranks or higher accept. In total 3 Vice Admirals or higher may decide a Shichibukai. On the other hand, a 'Fleet Admiral' can choose a Shichibukai without any permission. Once decided, PM a member of staff the name of the pirate/other, the other 2 admirals that approve and a brief reason why. Afterwards an admiral is allowed to send a letter to the pirate/other asking them to become Shichibukai. If they accept then inform a member of staff to change their faction.
